Happy Valentines Day!

Wishing all you romantics out there a wonderful Valentines day! I wrote a short poem to mark the occasion – it’s really an homage to some great love sayings rather than a poem – hope you like it!

They say that love conquers all,
All conquering love.

They say that love is a many-splendoured thing,
Beautiful splendid love.

The say that true love comes quietly,
Wait quietly for love.

They say that that love is a battlefield,
Sometimes we have to fight for love.

They say that you have to give love to receive love,
Give love.

They say there is always madness in love,
Madly in love.

The say that love is the beginning and the end,
Endless love.

They say that love is an irresistible desire,
Irresistible love.

They say that where there is love there is life,
Love for love.

They say that all you need is love,
Love is all you need.

They say a word,
A solitary word tells all,
And that word is,

For Love.
Eamon Walsh, February 2021

In awe and reverence to the wise words of Paul Francis-Webster,
Erich Segal, Holly Knight & Mike Chapman, Friedrich Nietzsche,
F. Scott Fitzgerald, Robert Frost,
Mahatma Gandhi, John Lennon & Paul McCartney
and William Butler Yeats.

For Love.
